Second wild camp in two weeks, the first been at lower grip hill just above dunford bridge,my wife dropped me off on the 628 woodhead pass at ironbower moss where i walked up on to longside edge towards the first tunnel vent you can see as you are heading towards manchester, a fantastic site for a wild camp if therei nst any wind but rather exposed other wise,so i made my way closer to dunford bridge overlooking winscar reservoir and a bit more sheltered i think that this area was were the tunnel excvators must have put the waste materials here creating little swilly areas to get out of the way ideal for my one man tent from snugpak, the ionisphere, just enough room to get myself and my back pack in, cooking had to be done outside and slightly exposed to the eliments.
Back to the second wild camp My other half dropped me off at fiddlers green where i then headed up to round hill and featherbed moss and howden edge, really weired walking under foot has i was walking the all surface was sinking about 15 inches it was like walking on a mattress it was like this until i got to harden moss where my destination for the night came into view ,rocking stones/crow stones edge a place myself and sue had visited some while before spending the whole afternoon just sat on the rocks taking in the views looking down towards howden reservoir.the jornery from harden edge was slightly different meaning that it was rather boggy over stainery clough head this been due to all the little fords and at times tricky to navitgate, by the time i got to where i was going to pitch my tent it was about 2:30 pm a little too early to setup so i got my camera out along with the video camera and started getting a few clips just sat there taking in the sights noticing how the views changed with the different lights, but also when your just sat there not making any noise how the wild life starts to show itself ,grouse, rabbits.
